Ink, Markmaking and Structure - simple ways to create artist book content

Explore the use of different ways to use ink, Sumigashi, and drawing to create content for alternative artist book structures.

In this 4 day workshop you will learn about ink, exploring its properties, including Sumigashi (known in Japan as the floating ink) and how expressive it can be as part of the mark making experience.

We will also look at content/structure in artist books and then create your own using simple themes to make book and 3D paper structures.

For this workshop you don't need any previous drawing experience.
